Why this kit matters

The Junkers Ju-52/3M, affectionately known as “Tante Ju,” was a workhorse of the skies during the 1930s and 1940s. Originally designed as a civilian airliner, it was later adapted for military use, serving as a transport aircraft for the German Luftwaffe. Its rugged design and versatility made it a favourite among pilots and ground crews alike.

During World War II, the Ju-52/3M played a crucial role in various operations, including the supply of troops and equipment. Its distinctive corrugated metal skin and tri-motor configuration made it instantly recognisable. Today, it remains a symbol of early aviation engineering and innovation.
