Why this kit matters

The USS Hammann (DD-412) was a Sims-class destroyer in the United States Navy during World War II. She played a crucial role in the Pacific Theatre, providing escort and anti-submarine support. Notably, Hammann was involved in the Battle of Midway, where she was tragically sunk while assisting the damaged aircraft carrier USS Yorktown.

Building this model allows enthusiasts to pay homage to the brave sailors of the Hammann and to appreciate the engineering marvels of naval warfare during the 1940s. The kit offers a detailed glimpse into the design and function of a WWII destroyer, making it a valuable addition to any historical model collection.
